Even though the leather is faux, it's a good imitation of both smooth leather and "crackled" leather (for lack of a better term.) To me, it looks pretty real. I bought this in red and the color is true to the red in the item's picture - true red, not super-bright, maroon-ey or orange-y. It is about the size of a real bowling bag, but of course it doesn't open as wide as a real bowling bag! You can still fit quite a lot of stuff in here, though, if you were so inclined.
The interior is rather flimsy. It's made with remarkably crinkly material (nylon, like windbreaker material) and the zippers aren't terribly heavy duty. (When I say crinkly, I mean that this stuff sounds like you're crumpling up a piece of paper when you move it. Weird!) The interor zippers are flimsier than the ones on the outside, as well...but how often are you zipping and unzipping interior pockets, anyway? The exterior zippers are fully functional and more heavy-duty than the ones inside the bag. To me, the important thing is that the outside of this bag looks good - I don't mind the inside so much! For the price, I think this bag is a good deal.
